A Chicago native, Mennat attended the University of Illinois at Chicago for undergrad where she majored in Biological Sciences and minored in Spanish. After graduating in 2019, Mennat first started working at Northwestern as a research technologist in the Center for Pharmacogenomics where she was introduced to the power and precision of using hIPSCs to study human disease. In 2021, she started her master's in public health at Northwestern with an epidemiology concentration and joined the Kiskinis lab as a research technologist to further her understanding and application of hIPSC modeling. In the future, she hopes to combine her educational background along with the molecular biology techniques she has picked up to contribute to genetic epidemiology research.
The lab is superbly located in the downtown Chicago area, a few minutes away from Lake Michigan,
the shopping and restaurants of Magnificent Mile, within the historical Montgomery Ward Memorial Building.
