Katherine grew up in Orange County, California and transferred to Northwestern in Fall 2018. She is currently a junior undergraduate majoring in Neuroscience under WCAS at Northwestern University. In the future, Katherine plans to pursue a MD-PhD in Neuroscience and explore the use of iPSCs as a form of therapy for Cerebral Palsy. In the lab, she assists Beth and Ryan in researching ALS disease mechanisms related to C9orf72 and NEK1 mutations utilizing iPSC-derived motor neurons. When not in the lab, Katherine enjoys singing, cooking, playing piano, and spending time on the courts with NU Club Tennis.
The lab is superbly located in the downtown Chicago area, a few minutes away from Lake Michigan,
the shopping and restaurants of Magnificent Mile, within the historical Montgomery Ward Memorial Building.
